Breathe awareness is self awareness. How often do you notice your breathing pattern? Breathing is an automatic function of the body. It is controlled by the respiratory center of the brain. Your breathing pattern changes whether you are awake or sleep.
The changes can be subtle or obvious. When we inhale slowly and deeply, it calms our nervous system. When we are stressed, our breathing pattern changes as a part of the flight or fright response.
Through inhalation and exhalation, the primary role of breathing is to absorb oxygen and expel carbon dioxide.
Although breathing is involuntary, we can also control our breath by the simple practice of pranayama which means breath control. Ancient practice and medical studies have shown that controlled breathing is greatly beneficial for relaxation and stress management.
Breathe Deep Within teaches concious breathing with guided meditation to help deepen your practice and have a better relationship with your breath. Simply find peace of mind for good health, and wholeness in a chaotic world. Your breath reflects your current state of well-being. It indicates how you are functioning day-to-day physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Breath is the essence of balance.
Go from shallow breathing, known as fright, flight, freeze, and collapse, to deep conscious breathing that have healing restorative properties. Proper breathing increases oxygen in the blood and body vital for optimal health.

Blessings. My name is LaDonna Funderburke, Certified Meditation and Wellness Workshop Facilitator, Cultural Healer, and Founder of Breathe Deep Within. For over 20 years, meditation, visualization, and breathwork have been an integral part of my daily practice.
Through my work, I have the privilege of sharing the transformative power of mindfulness and meditation in diverse spaces, including professional settings, non-profit organizations, leadership teams, K-12 classrooms, and women’s groups.
I teach simple, accessible mindfulness techniques—so you don’t have to overthink how to breathe and relax. These practices can enhance your well-being and introduce a new way of living rooted in balance and presence.
My holistic approach fosters a warm, welcoming environment where individuals feel comfortable meditating, allowing them to release tension and fully embrace the present moment.
As an artist, I find deep joy in working with children, guiding them to use meditation as a tool for relaxation and creative expression. My goal is to help them enjoy the process of creating art while embracing their natural artistic instincts.
At the heart of my mission is a commitment to bringing alternative healthcare and wellness to diverse and underserved communities, particularly BIPOC communities in need of deep inner healing, recovery, and peace.
